Using only Canvas and its core features, instructors can make engaging and modern courses that give students a uniquely Northeastern experience. Instructors and course designers who would like to go beyond the basics to add polish, style, and interactivity can use Canvas+ design tools, which includes Cidi Labs. In this training, you will learn to use the Cidi Labs DesignPLUS tools in your courses to create more visually appealing and engaging content. Cidi Labs offers several progressive training opportunities so you can go as far as you want in your design process. Cidi Labs trainings are ideal for power users and instructional designers, but everyone can learn from these training sessions.

Training Agenda:

Core Training Part 1 (90 minutes)

This first training provides a brief overview and introduction to DesignPLUS, during which Cidi Labs will demonstrate how to do the following: 

• Use the basic of DesignPLUS tools to build and organize content 
• Style images, links, tables and lists 
• Build out templates, course shells and bulk edit due dates 
• Introduce DesignPLUS support resources

Core Training Part 2 (60 minutes) 

This session is a continuation of Part 1; Cidi Labs will explore additional capabilities of the basics of DesignPLUS tools, including: 

• Cidi Labs’ three accessibility tools 
• Syllabus tools 
• Styling iFrames 
• Styling existing content 

The session concludes with a Q&A period to ensure the basic tools are mastered.
